Jalen Hurts and Nicole Lynn

The Super Bowl is a staple when it comes to sporting events in the United States, providing entertainment for millions of people across the country. The 2025 game was won by the Philadelphia Eagles as MVP and quarterback Jalen Hurts led the team to victory over the Kansas City Chiefs.

Jalen Hurts has a management team made up of only women, which is something that is not typically heard of, especially in the realm of sports which is considered a male-dominated industry. In fact, only 23.2% of sports agents are women, so Hurts’ all-women team certainly sets him apart from other professional athletes.

Quarterback Jalen Hurts and his management team

Jalen Hurts played as a quarterback in college football before joining the Eagles in 2020 as a second-round draft pick. A few months prior, Nicole Lynn, who now leads Hurts’ management team, reached out to apply to become his agent while he was in college. Lynn is the first black woman to represent an NFL draft pick and is the president of football operations at Rich Paul's Klutch Sports Group. Hurts and Lynn formed a connection through their shared vision, which is one that is rooted in overcoming barriers and doubt from others.

“It lights a fire in me. It does something to me, because I know I’ll prove you wrong. But I saw that same fire in Nicole. She said, ‘I’m a woman. People are going to overlook me. People are going to doubt me. They’re not going to give me the due respect. But I’m overcoming it, just like you do.’ And that’s where we really hit it off. We had the same vision.”

The other members of Jalen Hurts’ management team include Chantal Romain, Shakeemah Simmons-Winter, Rachel Everett, and Jenna Malphrus. Romain is an expert in media relations and client services with time spent in the NBA, WNBA and NFL. Simmons-Winter is a PR specialist that has years of experience in FIBA and football. Everett is the owner of Everett Sports Marketing and manages Hurts’ branding, while Malphrus helps to maintain the smooth running of the rest of the operation.

Why did Hurts choose all women?

Put simply, he didn’t choose a team of all women; Hurts has stated that he chose the best people for the roles. Hurts ended up putting together a unique team in the NFL and pro-sports overall hyper-masculine environment: a team made up of only women. A team of competent, successful, and confident women managing a Super Bowl MVP is something that could change the industry for the better by showing young women and children that the door is open to them to follow their dreams.

“It’s something that happened organically. I was seeking out the best, and that’s how it happened. And honestly, for me, it’s an eye that I don’t have that I’m able to lean on in certain situations. That’s something I value heavily.”

His team has already achieved several record-breaking accomplishments in the industry. His primary agent, Nicole Lynn, negotiated a historically lucrative contract for Hurts in 2023. The five-year, $255 million contract extension was the largest contract by average annual value in NFL history at the time. Lynn made history as the agent that negotiated that deal, and Hurts ensures that the public knows of the success of his team.

“I admire anyone who puts their head down and works for what they want. And I know women who do that daily, but they don’t get the same praise as men. They don’t get the praise that they deserve.”

The accomplishments and hard work of Hurts’ management team is paving the way for more women to succeed in the professional sports industry. When given equal opportunities to make themselves known, these women rise up and thrive as leaders.
