Continue reading to learn more about several leadership tips to take with you on your career journey.
1. Find your Leadership Style
There isn’t one right way to lead. We all bring different lived experiences, values, and strengths to the table and that’s what makes each leader unique. The key is figuring out what matters to you and how you want to show up for your team, your clients, and your community.
Know what you stand for - Your values will steady you when things get messy—and they will. Take the time to get honest about what matters most to you and the “why” behind it. Then go one step further and define what those values look like in daily behavior. If trust is a value, what does trust sound like, feel like, and look like in action?
Lead in a way that feels true to you - Everyone has advice about how you “should” lead. Listen, learn, and then carve your own path. The style that works for someone else may not work for you—and that’s not a flaw. Authenticity is your biggest differentiator.
Be aware of the ripple effect - Leadership isn’t just about decisions; it’s about the energy you bring into every interaction. When you lead with clarity, generosity, and purpose, you create space for others to rise with you. That ripple is real, and it’s powerful.
2. Build Systems that Scale
Building scalable systems is critical to sustained growth. The right tools and processes give you the space to focus on strategy instead of constantly putting out fires. It may take some trial and error to get it right. You’ll test different tools, adjust workflows, and figure out what rhythm works best for your team. The goal isn’t to create a perfect system. It’s to build one that’s sustainable and gives you and your team more freedom to focus on the work that really matters.
3. Surround Yourself with the Right Team
You’re only as strong as the people who help bring your vision to life. The right team doesn’t just execute, they challenge, complement, and elevate you. Be clear about what success looks like in critical roles and what qualities make someone effective beyond just skill set - things like accountability, communication, and alignment with your values.
People fuel your growth just as much as strategy does so choose people who want to build with you, not just work for you.
True leadership is empowering those around you to be the best they can be, and Sedna CEO Neha Arnold is proud to do just that each and every day. She inspires her team and her communities to grow and helps build bridges for bright and successful futures.
